Two Individuals Accused Regarding Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges following a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident during the incident. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.
The incident – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
