Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for the Xbox brand. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Platform-specific outlets began covering on PS5 topics as a new development. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft still intends to draw people in with strong games on its premier subscription.
The Immediate Additions
The duo of games currently accessible today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Upcoming Headline Games
Starting January 13th, the platform will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. Another big get is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of horror and action."
Compelling Indie Titles
However, the more modest titles arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
A Well-Rounded Collection
Ultimately, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they don't represent first-party juggernauts that validate the subscription alone. However, this batch of games are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that didn't get the attention they warranted upon launch — which makes them ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
